What are the common faults of boiler dust collectors during operation?

Boiler dust collectors may encounter various common faults during operation, which may affect the performance and efficiency of the dust collector, and even have adverse effects on the overall operation of the boiler system. Here are some common faults and their possible causes:

Abnormal voltage and current:

Phenomenon: such as low secondary voltage, high primary current, near zero secondary voltage, high secondary current, etc.

Possible reasons: grounding of high-voltage isolation knife switch, breakdown of high-voltage cable, etc.

Solution: Replace the cable or terminal connector, and remove any accumulated dust from the ash hopper.

Vibration system malfunction:

Phenomenon: The corona electrode vibration cycle is too long, and the vibration force is insufficient.

Solution: Adjust the vibration cycle, process and improve the vibration system.

Ash discharge valve malfunction:

Phenomenon: The ash discharge valve is blocked and unable to discharge ash.

Possible reasons: Air leakage and moisture absorption at the flange connection of the ash discharge valve.

Solution: Block air leaks, increase flue gas temperature, etc.

Filter bag issue:

Phenomenon: The filter bag is damaged, such as high-temperature burning, corrosion, etc. After prolonged operation, the filter bag may become clogged due to dust accumulation, resulting in a decrease in air volume and a decrease in dust removal efficiency.

Solution: Replace the filter bag and improve the operating conditions. In addition, a timed dust cleaning system can be set up to regularly blow back or vibrate clean the filter bags to remove dust adhering to them.

Fan malfunction:

Possible reason: The fan is a key equipment that provides power, and once a problem occurs, it will seriously affect the normal operation of the dust removal system.

Handling method:

Motor maintenance: Regularly inspect the motor, especially the bearing parts, and add lubricating oil or replace severely worn parts in a timely manner.

Blade repair: Damaged blades should be repaired or replaced in a timely manner to ensure the balance of the fan rotor.

Electrical inspection: Check the control circuit and protective devices to ensure the stability and reliability of the power supply system.

Air leakage:

Phenomenon: During the operation of the dust collector, poor sealing at the joints can easily cause air leakage and reduce dust removal efficiency.

Handling method:

Strengthen sealing: Seal equipment interfaces, valves, and other areas that are prone to air leakage using specialized sealing materials.

Regular inspection: Regularly inspect all connection parts and promptly tighten or replace any loose or worn parts.

Improved design: Adopting updated sealing technology to enhance the overall sealing performance of the equipment.

Ash accumulation in the ash hopper:

Phenomenon: The ash hopper is a place used to collect dust. If not cleaned in time, it can lead to dust accumulation and even blockage.

Solution: Set up an automatic ash cleaning device or manually clean the accumulated ash in the ash hopper regularly.

Control system malfunction:

Phenomenon: Most modern dust collectors are equipped with automated control systems to monitor and regulate the working status of the equipment. If the control system malfunctions, it will affect the operation of the entire dust removal system.

Handling method:

Software upgrade: Regularly update the software version of the control system to ensure its compatibility and stability.

Hardware maintenance: Regularly maintain sensors, controllers, and other hardware to check if signal transmission is normal.

Professional training: Provide professional training for operators to enable them to proficiently master the use of control systems and simple troubleshooting techniques.

In addition, there are some other possible faults, such as compressed air pressure significantly lower than the rated value, pulse controller not working properly, pulse valve malfunction, etc. The handling methods for these faults include increasing the air pressure, repairing or readjusting the pulse controller, repairing or replacing the pulse valve, etc.

In summary, boiler dust collectors may encounter various malfunctions during operation, and boiler dust collector manufacturers need to take corresponding measures to address the specific causes. At the same time, daily maintenance and upkeep of equipment should be strengthened to prevent malfunctions and extend the service life of the equipment.
